Others :
- EAST-WEST Asia-Link project : This project aims to train the next generation of Asian and EU partners’ academic staff to cross-fertilise ideas and improve the breadth and quality of student education. The objectives are to develop existing and new cooperative teaching, research links and networking among the participating institutes. The links form a collaborative framework for human resource development by training and upgrading the skills of academic staff and postgraduate students in the area of information engineering and technology, while also providing a foundation for fostering new partnerships and reinforcing existing collaborations between EU and Asian institutes. The project involves six partners, three from the EU, one from China, one from the least developed country South Asia (Nepal), and one from South East Asia (Thailand). The project facilitates the enhancement and transfer of knowledge and skills of teaching staff and postgraduate students by introducing cutting edge skills and methods in information engineering and technology.
- ANCAR - PLM project : The aim of the project is to contribute to the implementation of PLM strategies and PLM (Product Lifecycle Management) solutions in the Rhône-Alps SMEs (Small and Medium Enterprises). The technical solutions (PLM Information Systems) have been tested with the help of ASSETIUM provider. The PLM solutions permit the management of the information flows related to a product/service during its lifetime and considering all the specificities, resources and constraints of the all partners of the supply chain of the project. The ANCAR-PLM project also looks to optimisation of the information (knowledge capitalisation and reuse, time reducing, etc.).
- Control Theory and Industrial Applications of Discrete Event Dynamics Systems Project : The aim of the project is to investigate the representation, control, and optimisation of discrete event systems (DES). The project is collaboration between researchers of CollabNet research team and Systems Group at Chinese Academy of Sciences, China. Through this project, the two research groups hope to upgrade both our theoretical and technological ability in the control theory and applications of Discrete Event Systems. There are six visits and two project meetings (one in Chinese Academy of Sciences, China and one in UniStaff) between two partner institutes per year.
- WARTHE project : WARTHE (Wide Area Research Training in Health Engineering) is a Marie Curie EST (Early Stage Training) European programme. The proposed multi-host programme constitutes a step towards structured multidisciplinary research training in the field of Health Engineering, in particular electronic health, medical imaging, biomedical engineering, and ambient intelligence as applied to prevention, continuous monitoring and care of patients. This field is subjected to strong economic pressure to transform the operating modes of health systems, which generate a real demand. Barriers between areas tend to hinder advances in research and development. The project aims at optimally training researchers by integrating their area of research with a wider perspective.
- Service Centric Systems Engineering Project (SECSE) : The aim of the project is to exploit the full potential of software services, it is necessary to rapidly develop flexible, dependable service-centric systems that can adapt dynamically to their environment and inter-operate with legacy systems and other embedded software. It is also necessary to develop reliable and robust services that can be easily discovered by service integrators and that provide a guaranteed, specified quality of the offered services. This requires new software development processes and tools to support the new business models to bring about the NESSI vision of “the user, the individual, at the centre of future developments for an inclusive knowledge-based society for all”[NESSI 2005]
COREGRID Project (European Research Network on Foundations, Software Infrastructures and Applications
for large scale distributed, GRID and Peer-to-Peer Technologies) : CoreGRID aims at building a virtual European-wide Research Laboratory that will achieve scientific and technological excellence in the domain of large scale distributed, GRID and Peer-to-Peer technologies aiming at realizing our vision of what should be a GRID infrastructure. This vision of a new generation GRIDs architecture integrates in a seamless way the existing GRID and other emerging architectures such as P2P (peer-to-peer) taking in W3C (world-wide-web consortium) and other relevant standardization bodies concepts and standards. It is the primary objective of the CoreGRID Network of Excellence to build solid foundations for GRID and Peer-to-Peer on both a methodological basis and a technological basis and to stay at the forefront of the Excellence. This will be achieved by structuring research activities, leading to integrated research among experts from the relevant fields, and more specifically distributed systems and middleware, programming models, algorithms and tools and environments. Our long-term vision of the GRID (10 years) requires that CoreGRID must be sustainable and must evolve by itself when European funding will cease.
