CAMT and Masscom CMU Partner with Tsinghua University to Drive Exchange and Joint Research Initiatives, Elevating Graduate Potential to International Media Standards

The College of Arts, Media and Technology, Chiang Mai University, led by Asst.Prof.Worawit Janchai, Ph.D., Dean, alongside Asst.Prof.Jirawit Yanchinda, Ph.D., Associate Dean, and Setthee Boonchoo, Ph.D., Program Secretary for Animation and Visual Effects, in collaboration with executive members from the Faculty of Mass Communication, CMU, led by Asst.Prof.Supparerk Pothipairatana, Ph.D., Dean, and Asst.Prof.Vithaya Panichlocharoen, Ph.D., Associate Dean for Academic Affairs, welcomed Prof. Lee Miller, Visiting Professor from the School of Journalism and Communication (TSJC), Tsinghua University, and Editor-at-Large at Bloomberg. Prof. Miller played a key role in co-founding and teaching in the Global Business Journalism (GBJ) program at Tsinghua University—a partnership between Tsinghua University, the International Center for Journalists (ICFJ), and Bloomberg established in 2007 to cultivate world-class business journalists.

The discussion aimed to lay the groundwork for key initiatives, including short-term student exchange programs to enrich learning experiences and broaden international perspectives, hands-on workshops, and joint research collaborations among CAMT CMU, Masscom CMU, and TSJC Tsinghua University, China. The partnership also focuses on integrating digital media, technology, animation, and mass communication expertise with global media standards.

This collaboration marks a significant milestone for Chiang Mai University in advancing its internationalization strategy and building network partnerships with world-class academic institutions to produce well-rounded graduates ready to compete on the global stage. The event took place on August 17, 2026, at the College of Arts, Media and Technology, Chiang Mai University.
