
Chiang Mai, August 17, 2026 – The China Intelligence Center (CIC), College of Arts, Media and Technology, Chiang Mai University, led by Asst.Prof.Danaitun Pongpatcharatorntep, Ph.D., alongside a team of speakers from CIC, served as key facilitators and moderators for the “Chiang Mai Sister City Action Plan Workshop 2026” held at Shangri-La Hotel Chiang Mai.
Organized by Chiang Mai Province, the workshop aimed to engage stakeholders across sectors in brainstorming, laying foundations, and developing action plans to drive Chiang Mai’s Sister City relationships toward concrete and sustainable results.
The opening ceremony was presided over by Mr. Ratthapol Naradisorn, Governor of Chiang Mai Province, followed by a special lecture delivered by Mr. Nakpratch Chaiyanont, Head of the Chiang Mai Provincial Office, on “Chiang Mai’s Sister City Relations and the Role of the Province in Driving Concrete Outcomes.”
CIC played a vital role in providing academic facilitation throughout the event. Morning sessions focused on explaining frameworks and guidelines for the action plan, followed by an intensive afternoon workshop where participants co-created comprehensive draft action plans aligned with international urban development contexts.
