
The Digital Technology Management (DTM) graduate program at the College of Arts, Media and Technology, Chiang Mai University, organized a Kick-Off event for the AI-Era Smart City Leadership Program: Revolutionizing Urban Futures (AI-Powered Smart City Leadership: Transforming Urban Futures). This short-term course under the New Generation Graduate Project focuses on creating public-private sector collaboration, applying AI technology in planning and developing projects to drive smart city development that integrates ESG and SDG concepts, resulting in pilot projects that extend into quality of life improvement projects for local residents. Led by Konlawat Klaynak, Ph.D., Associate Dean of the College of Arts, Media and Technology, who presided over the opening ceremony, along with Asst.Prof.Suepphong Chernbumroong, Ph.D., Director of the Digital Technology Management Program, and Tama Duangnamol, Ph.D., Director of the Digital Integration Program, who jointly explained the concept and details of the course.
The event was honored to have Dr. Phassakorn Prathombut, Special Expert from the Digital Economy Promotion Agency (depa), deliver a special lecture on the topic “AI and Guidelines for Promoting Smart Cities in Thailand,” sharing experiences and concepts for driving smart cities at the national level. The event was well attended by representatives from government agencies and private sector organizations, including Chiang Mai Municipality, Chiang Mai Provincial Office, Lampang Municipality, Lamphun Provincial Administrative Organization, Nan Municipality, Mae Raem Subdistrict Municipality, Phluttaluang Subdistrict Administrative Organization, CAS Cogniser (Thailand) Co., Ltd., Pyramid Solution Co., Ltd., Jumbo Electronics Co., Ltd., and Siam Inno City Co., Ltd. The event took place on Wednesday, October 29, 2025, at Fai Kham 1 Conference Room, Academic Service Center, Chiang Mai University.
